URBAN CURVZ’s mandate is to invest in and celebrate women’s perspectives, stories and experiences through the art of theatre and to advocate for an artistic ecology that recognizes the bravery and excellence of it’s female contributors.
Urban Curvz seeks to be on the cutting edge of theatre productions, audience engagement, and to develop collaborative relationships with a variety of organizations all in the pursuit of providing opportunities for the development and discovery of a diversity of women’s voices.
URBAN CURVZ was founded in 2005 with the goal of creating more professional productions that could provide female artists, both emerging and established, with engaging artistic opportunities. After the success of our first productions, we became a registered not-for-profit society in 2007, and a year later merged with Broad Minds Productions to gain federal status as a charity in 2008, opening doors to increased funding. As a result, the official name of our charitable organization is Broad Minds Productions Foundation.
